7-Day Keto Meal Plan for Beginners With Simple Meals
A beginner-friendly 7-day keto meal plan with simple breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, and grocery planning tips.
This beginner keto meal plan is built around repeatable meals, simple groceries, and flexible swaps so the week feels manageable.
How to use this plan
Use this plan as a structure, not a medical prescription. Adjust portions to your appetite, goals, and professional guidance. If you track macros, enter your meals into your preferred app and adjust serving sizes. If you do not track, focus on avoiding obvious high-carb foods and building meals from protein, low-carb vegetables, and satisfying fats.
The plan repeats ingredients on purpose. Repetition lowers grocery cost and makes cooking easier.
Days 1 and 2
Day 1 can start with eggs, avocado, and spinach. Lunch can be chicken salad lettuce cups with cucumber. Dinner can be salmon with asparagus and cauliflower mash. If you need a snack, choose a boiled egg, olives, or a small portion of nuts.
Day 2 can use egg muffins for breakfast, tuna salad over romaine for lunch, and ground beef cabbage skillet for dinner. Add cheese, sour cream, or avocado if the meal needs more staying power.
Days 3 and 4
Day 3 can include Greek-style unsweetened yogurt with chia and a few berries, turkey lettuce wraps for lunch, and shrimp zucchini noodles for dinner. Keep sauces simple and unsweetened.
Day 4 can bring back eggs for breakfast, leftover beef over greens for lunch, and chicken thighs with broccoli and garlic butter for dinner. This is where meal prep starts paying off because leftovers prevent rushed choices.
Days 5 through 7
Day 5 can be smoked salmon cucumber bites, chicken avocado salad, and bunless burgers with salad. Day 6 can use omelets, tuna cucumber boats, and steak with mushrooms and spinach. Day 7 can repeat your favorite breakfast, finish leftovers at lunch, and make a simple sheet-pan dinner with chicken and low-carb vegetables.
By the end of the week, note which meals were easiest, which kept you full, and which ingredients went unused. That information is more valuable than a perfect plan on paper.
Shopping list
For this plan, buy eggs, chicken thighs or breast, ground beef, salmon, tuna, turkey slices, shrimp, romaine, spinach, cucumber, zucchini, broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower rice, cabbage, avocado, cheese, Greek-style unsweetened yogurt, chia seeds, berries, olive oil, butter, garlic, lemon, herbs, and nuts.
Shop once for the core foods, then do a small midweek refresh for greens and avocado if needed. Fresh produce is easier to use when it has a specific meal attached to it.
